Lust auf Italien: A Journey into the Heart of Authentic Italy

Monti Sibillini

Monti Sibillini
In the Monti Sibillini National Park, small communities have not only preserved their surroundings but also created paths for sustainable development that remain in place to this day. Visitors will find not only scenic beauty here but also deeply rooted cultural and culinary traditions – a true experience for anyone wishing to feel the authentic spirit of Italy.

A Journey into the Heart of Authentic Italy
The Monti Sibillini National Park, covering over 70,000 hectares, stretches between the regions of Marche and Umbria in the central Apennines of central Italy. It is a biodiversity hotspot, characterized by a mix of valleys, wetlands, dense forests, high plateaus, and mountain lakes. Particularly famous is the plateau of Castelluccio di Norcia, which impresses every year between June and July with its wild blooms – poppies, cornflowers, gentians, and other species.

More than 20 peaks in this mountain range rise above 2,000 meters, including Monte Vettore, Cima del Redentore, Monte Priora, Monte Sibilla, and Monte Bove.

This rugged, wild mountain landscape is home to rare animals such as the Apennine wolf, golden eagle, and chamois. At the same time, it is welcoming and offers ideal conditions for activities such as hiking, trekking, climbing, mountain biking, skiing, or snowshoeing – in every season.

For those seeking an original, nature-connected Italy, the southern part of the Marche region – on the border with Umbria – offers a place that embodies it all: unspoiled nature, impressive landscapes, centuries-old villages, and an atmosphere full of spirituality, legends, and hospitality.
